The Objectives of the project are to:
|
The project is introducing innovative ways for an International men’s group to share the needed skills that participants identify by encouraging cross- cultural dialogue in a workshop environment. Participants agree the activities arranged, and are encouraged to organise and manage individual activities in the workshop, in the community and through our partner media activities. Interface Learning provides the workshop premises and basic equipment for some activities (eg woodwork, bike repair), with skilled, session support, and consults with supporting learning providers to signpost to external learning, thus widening participation. The Project is creating partnerships with a wide variety of public and private employers, securing work taster sessions and a commitment to future collaborations in a mentoring project to further BME prospects. With our partners, Future Radio and BBC Voices, the project will explore video, radio and film production, new and different opportunities, leading to unexpected areas of learning and work, while at the same time developing more self awareness, confidence and goal achievement.
Funders
Our funders include The Learning Revolution Transformation Fund, The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (DBIS) and The Community Fund Grant of the LSC funded by European Social Fund.
